What are the responsibilities and job description for the Telecom Warehouse Operator position at DELACAN?
6-month contract, with potential for extension.
Schedule: Monday thru Friday, on-site daily, starting at 8 AM CST and working an 8 hour shift.
Expenses: None
Travel: Occasional field travel with other employees. No driving required for the CW, as they will ride share with the FTE. On a rare occasion may have to travel outside the region to another warehouse (expenses covered while traveling.)
Top Skills: warehouse, inventory in small cell/fiber area, operating heavy warehouse machinery and power tools. This doesn't require forklift driving experience and will not be a part of this role.
The Warehouse Technician will be responsible for the administration of material logistics in the Lightower central warehouse. She/he will be responsible for insuring timely turnaround on material requests. The Warehouse Technician will also be responsible for Inventory control and administration of periodic cycle counts in Lightower inventory locations. Position responsibilities involve continual lifting, lowering and carrying packages that typically weigh 25 - 35 lbs. and may weigh up to 70 lbs.
Job Responsibilities
- Physically locates inventory items
- Processes standard and freight shipments thru shipping vendor's online portal
- Maintains shipping log details in each Transaction
- Stages, reserves, & allocates inventory items per system requests
- Performs periodic cycle counts of inventory items
- Performs periodic Physical Inventory (PI)
- Operate construction tools and equipment: (Example: Concrete Saws, Core Drills, Vacuums, Skid Steers, Forklifts, etc.)
- Conduct work in a safe manner, perform daily site and equipment safety checks.
- Familiarity with Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant (ISP) fiber installation standards and practices.
- Working knowledge of ROW construction standards (aerial and underground).
- Working knowledge of NESC, NEC and OSHA standards.
- Knowledge of wireless/telecommunications technologies and platforms.
Education
- High School diploma or GED
- Military or technical school training in telecommunications, electronics, and AC/DC power systems preferred.
Experience
- 3 to 5 years experience in a warehouse, construction (OSP preferred)
- Experience with inventory in the Telecommunications/ISP/Fiber Optic space
- Strong MS Office (Excel, PP, Word) and data entry skills
- Understanding of UPS/FedEx shipping software
