Top Skills: QGIS or Fiber experience is essential to this role, must have experience with Adobe this is used daily, Visio experience is helpful, KMZ file experience is essential as well.
The goal of Network Records Specialists is to ensure all of these updates within the systems take place using the best practices and standards set forth, so all records are entered into the system in a ubiquitous fashion in order support the day to day design and restoration activities. The data contained within the system is used by many other downstream systems and tools within the organization which requires strong attention to detail and analytical abilities. Working as efficiently and accurately as possible is crucial given the number of users connected to the data, and the various tools that are dependent on the information contained within it.
Essential Job Functions
- Ability to interpret design plans & construction drawings to find pertinent information, adjust cable routes, slack and splice locations, etc. and then update the system of record based on their findings
- Interact with end users and make decisions on best solution to modify database records
- Handle help desk tickets by modifying records, considering the downstream impacts of the changes and engaging internal cross-functional owners to ensure the appropriate changes are made
- Work with external Dig-Safe agencies to resolve questions, verify data and update state systems
Education/Certifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience preferred
Experience/Minimum Requirements
- One (1) to Three (3) years of experience in the telecommunications field with Data Base Inputting
Other Skills/Abilities
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Power Point, AutoCAD, Visio, and GIS Mapping applications such as but not limited to MapInfo, OSPI, QGIS and other programs as required
- Good interpersonal skills. Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proven organizational skills with the ability to plan for and meet tight deadlines
- Ability to multi-task
- Knowledge of OSP/ISP Fiber Environments is a plus
- Knowledge of relational databases is a plus
- Ability to interpret design plans & construction drawings.
- Ability to work independently and be self-motivated, as well as part of a team
- Must be extremely detailed oriented with strong follow-through skills.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $27.00 - $29.00 per hour
