Responsibilities
- Perform thorough cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing all designated areas using appropriate cleaning agents and equipment.
- Handle chemical agents safely while performing cleaning tasks, adhering to all safety protocols and handling instructions.
- Operate floor buffers, polishers, and other floor care equipment to maintain high-quality flooring standards.
- Conduct routine custodial maintenance such as trash removal, restroom sanitation, and surface cleaning to ensure a hygienic environment.
- Assist with industrial cleaning projects that may involve heavy lifting, manual handling of supplies or equipment, and specialized cleaning procedures.
- Support facilities maintenance activities including minor repairs, equipment upkeep, and ensuring safety compliance across the premises.
- Utilize porter experience to manage supply inventories, restock cleaning supplies, and maintain organized storage areas.
Requirements
- Proven janitorial or custodial experience with a strong understanding of commercial or industrial cleaning procedures.
- Knowledge of chemical agent handling with a focus on safety practices during cleaning operations.
- Experience operating floor buffers and performing various floor care techniques such as buffing and polishing.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices; physical stamina for manual handling tasks is essential.
- Prior experience in facilities maintenance or industrial cleaning environments is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills for managing supplies and maintaining cleanliness standards.
