Job Summary and Qualifications

Directs all rehabilitation professionals within the Acute Rehabilitation Unit, to include Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy and Therapeutic Recreation. Works in conjunction with the Medical Director of the Rehab Unit to direct the medical care delivery processes of the unit. Has expert knowledge of and directs the compliance of Regulatory Standards, to include CMS/IRF/PPS, as they pertain to the Acute Rehabilitation Program. Oversees and contributes to the PPS Billing process to include clinical completion of the IRF-PAI. Directly manages and oversees compliance with all regulatory requirements in all settings to include the 60/40 Rule. Oversees coordination of department wide recruiting and staffing, including coordination of student internship programs. Advises hospital management regarding the status of patient care, budgetary projections, and quality improvement efforts. Anticipate and estimate the present and future need of the services to improve the quality and cost effectiveness of patient care through the development and participation in the strategic planning process. Collaborate and coordinate the efforts of the staff of the service to accomplish the mission of the organization.

• You will develop and direct all clinical and ancillary services within the Del Sol Rehabilitation Unit. Promote a transdisciplinary coordination of services within Nursing, OT, PT, Speech, Recreational Therapies, Case Management and other Ancillary services that are necessary for the success of the Rehabilitation Program.
• You will monitor and achieve the financial objectives of Del Sol Rehabilitation Program
• You will be accountable for the daily operations of the departments to include; staffing of all disciplines, supervision, financial outcomes, problem-resolution, and physician relations, patient and employee satisfaction, and human resource functions.
• You will participate in development and monitoring of performance improvement objectives and activities, to include: Program Evaluation of the IRF unit and CQI Activities of all departments and utilizes information to improve program and operational outcomes.
• You will direct and prepare for CARF Accreditation and maintains compliance with CARF standards.
• You will supervise Therapy Supervisors and Nursing Staff to assure accountability of unit Mission and Values, regulatory requirements, adherence to hospital policies and general management principles over all clinical staff.
• You will provide daily guidance in application of scheduled evaluations, new employee orientation, and staff education activities.
• You will prepare management reports and documents as directed by Administrative Director.
• You will maintain professional growth and development through in-house in services, seminars, workshops and professional affiliations.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required: Degree in healthcare management or rehabilitation related field, a Master’s degree or 5 years of Rehab management experience, an RN with experience in Rehabilitation Nursing or CRRN certified.
• Preferred licensure or eligibility in Texas for RN. PT, OT, Speech, TR, Social Worker or MBA.
• Minimum of five years clinical Rehab experience, three years of management experience preferred.
