Purpose of Position:
The Senior Accountant, Financial Reporting is a key team player in Fresh Del Monte’s financial reporting function. This role reports to the Director, Financial Reporting and is responsible for assisting in the preparation of the annual Form 10-K and the quarterly Form 10-Qs, including the notes to the consolidated financial statements and related reporting schedules. The role is also responsible for preparing calculations and supporting schedules related to certain accounting areas for which the financial reporting team is responsible.
Accountabilities:
- Prepares financial statements, including SEC Form 10-Q and 10-K reports, and supporting schedules underlying the financial information included in the financial reports.
- Assist in the preparation of investor communication deliverables, including quarterly earnings releases and investor presentations.
- Helps develop and maintain detailed Xtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) tagging of financial statements and footnotes.
- Prepares annual employee benefit plan financial statements.
- Supports requests from independent auditors related to quarterly reviews and the annual 10-K audit.
- Analyzes variances in financial statement analytics, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flows for use in MD&A.
- Ensures compliance with and maintains analyses for various accounting processes, including share-based compensation and earnings per share support.
- Lead or participate in special projects as needed.
Minimum Skills Required:
- BS degree in Accounting required
- CPA strongly preferred
- Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience, with public accounting experience strongly preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong work ethic, motivated self-starter
- Exceptionally organized and strong at execution and attention to detail
- Able to keep pace and meet deadlines for multiple tasks in a timely manner without compromising accuracy
- Experience with Wdesk preferred
