Job Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Special Education and Student Supports, the District Program Specialist, and site administration, the Intervener provides specialized instructional and communication support to a student or students who have both hearing and vision impairments. The Intervener facilitates access to the educational environment, instructional materials, and social interactions by utilizing individualized communication methods, environmental adaptations, and sensory supports. The Intervener works collaboratively with certificated staff, related service providers, and families to promote the students’ independence, learning, and inclusion in all educational settings.
Requirements / Qualifications
This position is eligible for part-time district-sponsored medical benefits with some out of pocket cost to the employee. This position is automatically enrolled into the California Public Employees' Retirement System (CalPERS) upon hire. American Sign Language (ASL) required.
