Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
The purpose of this position is to train students to have the knowledge to pass the commercial vehicle and driving exams to obtain a career in the transportation industry. This role primarily supports evening/night classes and training sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
Three (3) years verifiable Truck Driver experience utilizing a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and night schedules.
Valid Texas Class A CDL with ability to be insurable by Del Mar College.
No more than three (3) moving violations on driving record in the past three (3) years.
Comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) medical requirements by possessing a current DOT physical medical card.
Must have a satisfactory Texas DPS Abstract Driving Record.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of the Federal and State rules and regulations pertaining to commercial drivers.
Basic computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience as a Driver Trainer.
Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
