Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
This position reports directly to the Dean of Student Engagement and Retention. Overall administration and coordination of the resources and activities of the Success Coaching department, including strategic planning and goal setting; identification and attainment of service objectives; resource allocation; program evaluation and research; outreach and consultation; develops and implements the philosophy, policies, and procedures for operations for services provided by the subordinate unit.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s degree.
Five (5) years professional experience in a Higher Education setting within one or more Student Affairs/Student Support Services areas.
Two (2) years in an administrative supervisory capacity.
Experience in coordinating and delivering educational programming (study skills, priority management, test taking strategies etc.).
Budget management.
Required Job Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Knowledge of laws and regulations that relate to the respective programs and services offered.
Involvement and commitment to educational and professional development.
Multicultural awareness and competency in Student Services.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills that enable effective interaction with students, staff, College personnel and community agencies.
Knowledge and experience with electronic records management systems for student records (i.e. Colleague, Civitas, Canvas).
Proficient with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in student development/student affairs, counseling, psychology, social work or related field.
Experience in higher education caseload management, success coaching, and motivational interviewing, solution-focused or strengths-based coaching frameworks.
Experience tracking student participant data and grant project reporting.

Supervise departmental staff, assign duties, monitor and assess progress of Success Coaching department, Grant Objectives and oversee the day-to-day operations of Success Coaching Initiatives specifically for the Freedom to Dream Program.
Job Duty
Coordination, recruitment, retention, training, supervision, development, and evaluation of professional and support staff.
Preparation and management of the budget.
Develop and administer the departmental budget.
Approve and manage expenditures and forecast short – and long-term budgeting needs.
Job Duty
Development of annual reports, and other documents that represent and advocate for department needs.
Job Duty
Provide effective direction and leadership appropriate to Success Coaching efforts and maintain a caseload of Freedom to Dream students as needed.
Job Duty
Work with other administrators in matters related to student success initiatives, student effectiveness, retention, persistence, and completion.
Coordinate with student service and instructional support services, as well as academic divisions and disciplines.
Job Duty
Serve on the CARE Team.
Job Duty
Update College website and brochures with most current information for students.
Job Duty
Provide caseload management of all Success Coaches.
Job Duty
Serve on special Committees as directed.
