Salary Grade: 14 ($46,441 - $60,605 - $74,769)
FLSA: Nonexempt
Essential Functions
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Inspects and maintains traffic control devices to ensure proper operation; performs preventative maintenance activity; troubleshoots and repairs electronic equipment; and tests and programs control cabinets.
Responds to traffic control device outage calls; completes verbal and written status reports; and completes work orders and requests for maintenance.
Drives and maintains work site trucks; performs pre-trip vehicle inspection; checks fluid levels and tire pressure; fuels vehicle; and reports problems with vehicle to supervisor.
Maintains reference material library; collects schematic diagrams and technical manuals for traffic control equipment; maintains equipment log and supply list; and updates knowledge base on new and existing technologies.
Conducts simulations in shop to test traffic control equipment; and tests new and repaired equipment to ensure proper operation
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; two years of experience in electrical repair and maintenance; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License, including appropriate endorsements or, must obtain a valid Georgia Commercial Driver’s License within six months of employment
