What are the responsibilities and job description for the Advanced or Basic EMT position at DeKalb Ambulance Service?
Must maintain good physical health, possess adequate eyesight and hearing to meet state standards, must pass an initial employment drug screen, provide patient care and initiate treatment in accordance with the State of Alabama Department of Public Health rules and DAS policy and procedures, ensure patient safety and comfort throughout transport, assure accurate and proper completion, disposition, and routing of EMS reports, invoices, incident reports, and other operational reports as required by company policy, maintain the didactic and clinical knowledge and skills obtained through the various certification and educational programs attended. Medical knowledge and skill performance standards shall be based on current medical control protocols, procedure and state guidelines. Maintain the assigned vehicle, supplies and equipment in a state of operational readiness and in a clean, presentable manner. Maintain awareness of patient’s emotional and physical needs. Maintain strict confidentiality of all patient information and ambulance service data. Perform all other related duties as assigned.
