Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Interior Architectural Coordinator with a minimum of five years of experience in luxury residential interior design or interior architecture. This is a full-time, in-person position based in our Newport Beach studio, with occasional travel to our Beverly Hills office and client project sites.

This role is external-facing and highly collaborative—serving as the bridge between the design studio and the broader project team, including architects, consultants, general contractors, and fabricators. The ideal candidate has exceptional technical ability, strong communication skills, and the confidence to make informed, design-aligned decisions in real time.

Who You Are

You are a seasoned professional with a refined technical eye and the ability to execute complex design intent with accuracy and clarity. You thrive in high-caliber environments, balancing precision and creativity with professionalism and diplomacy. You are comfortable coordinating across multiple disciplines, leading discussions with project partners, and protecting the integrity of the design while ensuring constructability.

Colleagues and consultants describe you as detail-driven, thorough, and proactive—a true collaborator who approaches every challenge with both design sensibility and technical insight.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary interior architectural coordinator between the design team, architects, consultants, and general contractor, ensuring all disciplines remain aligned with the approved interior design intent.
  • Support the Studio Design Lead in all phases of project execution, providing technical oversight and coordination throughout design development, documentation, and construction.
  • Conduct deep and thorough reviews of shop drawings and submittals, redlining for accuracy, constructability, and adherence to the interior design vision.
  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of construction means and methods, exercising sound judgment and the ability to make timely, design-informed decisions in meetings and on-site.
  • Develop and produce detailed design development and construction plan sets with precision and consistency.
  • Refine and finalize 3D models and technical drawings initiated by the design team to accurately reflect current project direction.
  • Coordinate directly with vendors, fabricators, consultants, and contractors to confirm that all specifications and details are executed to the highest standard.
  • Conduct field verifications and site measurements, integrating real-time updates into drawings and ensuring design accuracy from concept through installation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in luxury residential interior architecture or design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Interior Architecture, Interior Design, or a related field.
  • Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp (experience with Enscape, 3DS Max, or Layout is a plus).
  • Strong technical skills and a comprehensive understanding of construction detailing, fabrication, and high-end materials.
  • Excellent organizational, coordination, and communication skills.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
  • Must reside within or be able to commute to North Orange County.
  • Must have a personal vehicle, valid driver’s license, and willingness to travel between offices and project sites (approximately 10–15% of the time).

Compensation Benefits

  • Status: Salaried, FLSA Exempt
  • Paid Time Off: 10 vacation days to include office closure between Christmas and New Year’s, 6 paid holidays, 3 sick days,
  • Benefits: Employer-sponsored medical, dental, and vision insurance
