What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Maintenance Supervisor position at DeIorio Foods, Inc.?

Principle Duties & Responsibilities

Supervise mechanics to ensure assigned tasks are being completed in a timely manner and to a level of a zero-downtime goal.
Provide guidance as needed of mechanical and electrical skills to mechanics in performing their assigned tasks.
Be able to instruct, coach and mentor mechanics to time and adjust all plants machinery to optimize production performance.
Oversee maintenance PM’s and Wo’s. Issue assignments, collect, review paperwork for completion and close in maintenance program with the assistance for the Maintenance Manager.
Identify worn mechanical components in need of repair or replacement and prioritize their level of urgency.
Order the correct electrical components such as motors, switches, sensors, prox’s and all other basic electrical components.
Review and approve parts ordered by maintenance personnel.
Maintain maintenance areas to an audit ready condition.
Respond to floor calls as needed.
Work projects as required.

Qualifications

Good Interpersonal, Leadership and Communication skills.
Enjoy problem solving.
Ability to work well in a team environment.
Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), personal safety, and food safety standards.
Welding is a plus.
Troubleshoot and help develop sustainable solutions for issues with equipment, to include PLC controlled equipment, plant electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and mechanical systems including motors, distribution control systems.
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a technician role in distribution, supply chain, or manufacturing.
Installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems, including, but not limited to, 110V, 220V, 440V, and low voltage control systems.
Strong PLC equipment knowledge, troubleshooting and repair skills.
Strong mechanical aptitude, excellent troubleshooting skills of processing and packaging machinery
Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime.
Assist with equipment changeovers and line startups, troubleshooting issues as needed.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but can be high. The team members must have a strong safety awareness to insure a safe and healthy workplace.
Ability to work Sunday – Saturday, off-shifts, weekends, holidays, support a 24 hour/7-day operation as needed.
Ability to stand, push, pull, squat, bend, kneel, climb, and walk on a continual basis throughout shift, and work in awkward and tight areas/spaces.
Ability to lift from floor to above the head, to carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs. frequently, and 75 lbs. occasionally, throughout work shift.
Ability to work with yeast and flour products.
