Job Description:
DEI Systems LLC is currently hiring an Assistant Controller to join our team! The position is full-time, in our Tewksbury Massachusetts office. We're looking for an individual who is enthusiastic about working on some of the most exciting, high profile, state-of-the-art projects. DEI Systems is a premier electrical contractor performing work throughout New England. DEI has expertise with projects in virtually every field of Electrical Construction - Design/Build Services, Commercial Developments, Multi-Family, Mix-Use, and Industrial, as well as Government and Institutional projects.
Responsibilities:
Financial Data Management and Reporting:
- Oversee the complete Accounts Payable process, including invoice processing, payment runs, and vendor management.
- Manage the Accounts Receivable functions, including invoicing, collections, and customer account reconciliations.
- Assist with payroll processing, ensuring accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and tax compliance.
- Partner on completing month-end close processes and oversee general ledger activities.
- Prepare and analyze comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Generate financial reports and present findings to leadership to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Analyze operating expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising operational effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and company policies.
- Collaborate with external accountants and software partners as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or similar certification is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant Accounting & Finance experience.
- Construction industry and / or Payroll processing experience is preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (i.e. Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax compliance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy in financial data management.
- Proactive entrepreneurial mindset and work ethic.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and handle confidential information.
