Dehner Elite Arts is seeking an experienced, motivating dance instructor to teach Teen Kicks, Leaps & Turns (KLT) classes. This role is ideal for someone who excels in technical training for teen dancers and values measurable skill growth each semester.
There may also be additional teaching opportunities in other styles based on experience and studio needs, including Contemporary, ballet, tap, acro, or combo classes and a competitive choreographer.
Responsibilities
- Teach structured Teen KLT classes with clear technical progression
- Focus on turns, leaps, kicks, alignment, strength, flexibility, and control
- Set clear technical goals and track observable student progress each semester
- Provide consistent, constructive corrections appropriate for teen dancers
- Maintain a positive, disciplined, and professional classroom environment
- Prepare students for performances, competitions, or advanced placement as needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience teaching teen dancers required
- Strong technical understanding of turns, leaps, extensions, and conditioning
- Ability to challenge teen dancers while maintaining encouragement and respect
- Experience in Contemporary or other technique-based styles preferred
- Reliable, professional, and team-oriented
Position Details
- Independent Contractor (1099)
