Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Medical Assistant to join our small, supportive team at our Newport Beach gastroenterology practice. This full-time role supports both back and front office operations, including patient intake, chart management, scribing, scheduling, and patient communication. The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and committed to providing excellent patient care in a collaborative, team-oriented environment. Key Responsibilities
Back Office Duties:
- Perform patient intake for both in-person and telemedicine visits
- Scribe for physician during consultations and follow-ups
- Update patient charts with procedure reports, labs, pathology, and imaging
- Manage provider task lists, including test results and patient inquiries
- Assist with patient communication in person and over the phone
Front Office Duties:
- Schedule consultations and procedures
- Answer and manage high-volume phone calls (40 daily)
- Coordinate referrals and enter orders into Surgical Information Systems (SIS)
- Send faxes for lab orders, forms, and documentation
- Manage voicemail and assist with patient callbacks
Requirements
- Medical Assistant experience preferred, but new graduates or future PA-C students are encouraged to apply
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Bilingual is a plus, but not required
