Job Title: Systems Development Engineer - Wind Tunnels and Turbines
Reports to: Vice President of Engineering
Position Summary
The Systems Development Engineer is a key contributor in the design and manufacture of airflow & thermal management solutions. The role requires a collaborative mindset and ability to work cross functionally with sales & marketing, and operations. The systems development engineer will be responsible for the technical performance and management of calibration equipment, including wind tunnels and jet calibration stations. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, willing to dive in and learn new skills, and seek modern methods to improve processes and products. This position is located at the Company’s office in Nashua NH.
Key Responsibilities.
- Manage all aspects of sensor test and measurement including test equipment design and maintenance, calibration, and database management in accordance with N.I.S.T. standards;
- Continuous improvement of existing product design and manufacturability including obsolescence support;
- Developing new and innovative products to expand capabilities and applications for our customers;
- Support software development team to automate data gathering and analysis to formulate process control charts for sensors requiring calibration;
- Work closely with mechanical engineering to create airflow dynamics simulations, interpret results, and execute test programs to validate results;
- Create and review engineering drawings, schematics, cable assemblies, work instructions, and technical specifications for airflow products.
Experience, Skills, and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or systems engineering with prior experience working on electromechanical systems and/or fluid dynamics;
- Altium PCB, SolidWorks, Microsoft Visual Studio, GitHub, SVN;
- HVAC type control methods (Process Control, I/O, Comms, Electromechanical systems);
- Analog and Digital Electronics design and troubleshooting;
- MySQL database, PHP, MongoDB;
- Data Analysis and reporting tools. SPC methods, Excel, PPT, PHP;
- PIC and ARM Microcontrollers debug;
- Microsoft Visual C debug
