POSITION OVERVIEW
DEFTEC Corporation is seeking a Contracts Manager to support and manage the full lifecycle of government contracts, from proposal support through contract administration and closeout. This role will play a key part in ensuring compliance with FAR, DFARS, and customer-specific requirements, while partnering closely with accounting, operations, and program leadership. The Contracts Manager will also support the integration of contract data into internal systems, including Unanet ERP, and will be expected to learn and operate within DEFTEC's financial and project management workflows. This is a hands-on role requiring attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced government contracting environment.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Administer contracts across the full lifecycle, including award, modification, execution, and closeout
- Review and interpret contract terms, conditions, and requirements to ensure compliance and risk mitigation
- Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and agency-specific regulations
- Support proposal efforts, including review of solicitations (RFPs/RFQs), contract terms, and representations and certifications
- Assist in the development and review of teaming agreements, NDAs, and subcontract agreements
- Support contract negotiations and coordination with customers and subcontractors
- Prepare, review, and process contract modifications, task orders, and funding actions
- Maintain accurate contract files and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Track contract funding, period of performance, and key deliverables
- Partner with accounting and program teams to ensure alignment between contracts, billing, and project setup
- Support contract setup and maintenance within Unanet, including project structures and contract attributes
- Assist in reconciling contract data with billing, revenue, and financial reporting
- Monitor compliance with contractual requirements, including reporting, deliverables, and invoicing terms
- Identify and mitigate contractual risks, escalating issues as appropriate
- Support audits and reviews (DCAA, internal, and customer audits)
- Assist in developing and improving internal contracts processes, policies, and templates
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Contracts Management, Finance, or related field
- 10 years of experience in government contracts administration
- Strong knowledge of:
- FAR and DFARS
- Contract types (CPFF, T&M, FFP)
- Federal acquisition lifecycle
- Experience reviewing and administering prime contracts and subcontracts
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a small to mid-sized government contractor environment
- Familiarity with Unanet ERP or willingness and ability to learn quickly
- Experience supporting proposals and contract negotiations
- Exposure to DCAA audits and compliance requirements
- CPCM or other relevant certification
