Duties/Responsibilities
- Responsible for the cleanliness of guest rooms and public areas, and for reporting to the maintenance department any deficiency in any room or public area, and all out of order equipment.
- Reports all incidents or unusual events to Executive Housekeeper and documents appropriately. Observes precautions required to protect hotel and guest property and report damage, theft, and found articles to supervisors.
- Knowledge of other departments, willingness to help – a team player.
- Handles guest questions and comments in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Executes ongoing deep cleaning activities and special projects when instructed.
- Maintain a clean and attractive work area, uniforms, employees, and appearance.
- Must be responsible for security of guests, fellow employees and hotel assets.
- Must perform any other required duties as requested by the General Manager to aid in better operation of the hotel, restaurant, lounge, and service to the guests.
- Carry linens, towels, toilet items, and cleaning supplies, using wheeled carts.
- Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas so that health standards are met.
- Empty wastebaskets, empty and clean ashtrays, and transport other trash and waste to disposal areas.
- Replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses, linens, writing supplies, and bathroom items.
- Keep storage areas and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
- Dust and polish furniture and equipment.
- Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies, using vacuum cleaners and shampooers.
- Wash windows, walls, ceilings, and woodwork, waxing and polishing as necessary.
- Hang draperies and dust window blinds.
- Remove debris from driveways, garages, and swimming pool areas.
- Sort, count, and mark clean linens and store them in linen closets.
- Never eats, drinks, or smokes in guest view.
- Immediately reports any guest issues to the Manager on Duty
- Courteous and attentive to guests.
- Must have a willingness to help.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and Holidays.
- Must be honest and work well in a repetitive task.
- Have a valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Stand/walk on feet for 8 hours and work in a restrictive space/environment.
- Must have eyesight enabling vision both near and far.
- Must be able to climb up and down stairs.
- Must hear at a basic level and understand English.
- Must be able to bend, stretch arms overhead and lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds.
