Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Property Maintenance Technician or Handyman to join our team. This role focuses on general repairs, lawn care, and day-to-day upkeep. They are expected to perform small projects such as minor renovations, installations, and repairs to support the overall functionality and success of the program.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
Routine & Preventive Maintenance:
Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure all building systems, equipment, and grounds remain safe, functional, and in good working condition.
Repairs & Troubleshooting:
Perform general repairs including appliances, outlets, plumbing fixtures, light carpentry, drywall, flooring, and basic electrical work
Emergency Response (On-Call):
Respond to after-hours emergencies such as plumbing leaks, power issues, lockouts, or urgent repair needs.
Grounds & Exterior Maintenance:
Maintain property appearance through lawn care, mowing, weed control, trimming bushes/trees, and general cleanup.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure smoke detectors, fire extinguishers, and other safety systems are operational and up to code.Respond to maintenance requests in a timely manner and accurately document work performed using basic systems or logs.Conduct routine inspections to identify repair or maintenance needs across all properties. Perform basic upkeep on company vehicles, tools, and maintenance equipment.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Basic computer skills and ability to use property management software
- Experience in general maintenance (apartment maintenance preferred)
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall repairs, paint
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Requirements
- Reliable transportation (required for on-call emergencies)
- Ability to be on-call as scheduled
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to lift, carry, and perform physical tasks as needed
Pay: $17.00 per hour
