What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Marketing Manager position at Defining Wealth?
About Defining Wealth
Defining Wealth is one of the fastest-growing RIAs in the country. We're growing rapidly because clients keep coming to us — and we need talented, detail-oriented teammates to help us serve them at the highest level. This role exists to support and expand our marketing efforts to retirees and pre-retirees across the U.S.
We're a fee-based Registered Investment Adviser headquartered in Franklin, TN, and we believe financial planning should feel human, not transactional. We lead with education and planning, not product sales, and a large part of how we reach and serve our community is through content — our YouTube channel, LinkedIn, and other social platforms have become a core engine of the firm's growth.
What We Are Looking For
We're hiring a Marketing & Social Media Manager to own the day-to-day execution and orchestration of our marketing engine. This is a hybrid marketing manager, project manager, and social media manager role: you'll set the cadence across our channels, manage the vendors and freelancers who help us produce content, and keep our communities engaged — reporting directly to one of the firm's Co-Founders.
This is a builder's seat. You'll have real ownership over how our brand shows up, the systems behind it, and the results it drives. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable thinking strategically about a content calendar and rolling up their sleeves to keep a dozen moving pieces on schedule. This is a high-visibility role with a direct line to firm leadership and meaningful room to grow in your career as we grow as a company.
What You Will Do
Social Media & Content
• Own our social presence — drive strategy and execution across YouTube and LinkedIn (our top priorities), plus Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
• Build, manage, and maintain the content calendar across all channels, ensuring a consistent, on-brand publishing cadence.
• Coordinate the full content lifecycle — from idea and scripting through filming logistics, editing, publishing, and repurposing long-form video into shorts and posts.
• Track performance across platforms and turn the data into clear recommendations on what to do more of, less of, and next.
Project & Vendor Management
• Manage our external vendors and freelancers — video editors, copywriters, designers, and other contractors — including briefs, timelines, quality control, and accountability for deliverables.
• Serve as the central point of coordination that keeps projects moving on deadline and on brand.
• Build and refine the systems, workflows, and SOPs that make our marketing operation repeatable and scalable.
• Manage budgets and timelines for content production and campaigns.
Community & Marketing Operations
• Manage and nurture our online communities — responding, moderating, and fostering engagement so members feel seen and supported.
• Run marketing operations in HubSpot — email campaigns, lead nurture, landing pages, and reporting (HubSpot experience strongly preferred).
• Partner with the Co-Founder and content team to align marketing activity with the firm's growth goals.
• Help maintain brand consistency across every touchpoint, from social posts to email to the website.
What We Are Looking For
• 2 years of experience in marketing, social media management, content, or a closely related role.
• Proven social media results, especially on YouTube and LinkedIn, with working familiarity across Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
• Strong project and vendor management skills — you're organized, deadline-driven, and great at getting work out of other people without dropping balls.
• Excellent written communication and a sharp eye for brand voice and quality.
• HubSpot experience preferred (or strong experience with a comparable marketing automation/CRM platform and the ability to ramp quickly).
• Comfortable with analytics and reporting.
• Self-starter who thrives with ownership and ambiguity in a fast-growing environment.
• Based in or able to commute to Franklin, TN for a primarily in-office schedule.
Bonus Points
• Experience in financial services, wealth management, or another regulated/compliance-aware industry.
• Hands-on video editing, graphic design, or copywriting ability.
• Experience building communities or managing membership platforms.
Compensation & Benefits
• Target Compensation Is $72,000 - Base salary of $65,000 plus performance bonus.
• Group Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance
• Company 401(k) with a 4% match and immediate vesting
• Unlimited PTO, with a recommended target amount per employee
Salary : $65,000 - $72,000
