This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency. The incumbent will be responsible for providing counterintelligence support to the Research and Technology elements of the Agency.

- Providing independent counterintelligence and/or force protection briefings;
- Providing counterintelligence support to federal agencies and/or private sector organizations;
- Conducting analysis on matters of counterintelligence or force protection concern;
- Conducting counterintelligence assessments on affiliated facilities, infrastructure, and/or programs.
Responsibilities:
As a INTELLIGENCE OPERATIONS SPECIALIST at the GG-0132-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:- Plans, prepares and conducts counterintelligence functional services activities to include force protection briefings for DTRA personnel going on and returning from foreign travel. Applies knowledge of foreign intelligence entities (FIE) operations and terrorist modus operandi in formulating briefings and providing recommendations to travelers and senior department officials deploying overseas.
- Provides counterintelligence support to CWMD and counter-proliferation mission areas and activities. Based on information and knowledge of FIE and mission areas, identifies trends and provides predictive assessments of future behavior of foreign counterparts during the performance of CI activities. Recommends various countermeasures in an effort to mitigate and counter foreign collection efforts or foreign influence during the conduct of DTRA missions and activities.
- Conducts research and analysis on matters of counterintelligence or force protection concern. Identifies trends and conducts analysis on counterintelligence threats and vulnerabilities. Periodically conducts counterintelligence and force protection assessments of DTRA and DoW facilities and programs worldwide. Provides advice and recommendations, as needed, in order to enhance security measures and protect critical information.
- Establishes and conducts regular liaison with members of the law enforcement and intelligence communities to facilitate the exchange of information and maintain contacts required to support the mission. Represents DTRA and further participates in inter and intra-agency conferences and symposiums.
