What are the responsibilities and job description for the LOGISTICS / WAREHOUSE CLERK position at Defense Technology Equipment Inc.?
An aerospace company in Sterling, VA is looking for a full-time experienced logistics/warehouse specialist. Under general supervision, performs basic routine warehouse duties such as shipping, receiving, stocking, and operating warehouse equipment.
1) Reports and takes general direction from assigned management.
2) Assists in loading and unloading of material.
3) As directed, receives material in the system.
4) Inspects condition, quality, and quantity in accordance with written established procedure.
5) Takes pictures of material for quality and inspection control.
6) Formulates and maintains quality control objectives complementary to corporate policies and goals; also investigates and adjusts customer complaints regarding quality.
7) Conducts movement of shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage and work areas.
8) Tags items with Bin locations.
9) Maintains an accurate inventory list, an inventory control for stock level, also complies with internal audits for inventory control.
10) Conducts cycle counts, reports variances and adjustments to inventory location.
11) Reviews shipping notices, bills of lading, invoices, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments, and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
12) Compiles records of unfilled orders.
13) Picks, packs, and labels boxes in preparation for shipping.
14) Provides inspection activity for product throughout shipping cycle.
15) Verifies proper licensing and documentation for each shipment.
16) Ensures all outgoing shipments meet quality standards and are ITAR compliant.
17) Posts weight and shipping charges.
18) Prepares reviews, and issues bills of lading and SLI (Shipper’s Letter of Instructions) documents and invoices.
19) Maximizes work space to accommodate boxes, containers, and skids.
20) Maintains all warehouses clean and organized.
21) Ensures safety adherence of personnel and warehouse work area.
22) Operates a forklift and other warehouse equipment.
23) Contributes recommendations on how to standardize procedures to improve efficiency of workflow and other warehouse practices.
24) Coordinates with account support buyers for order discrepancies resolution.
