In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.
Basic Requirements
Undergraduate and Graduate Education: Major study -- photography, radio or television production, motion picture production, or other fields related to the position.
Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.
OR
Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes work directly connected with the production aspects of the field(s) of the position to be filled.
AND
Qualifying Experience
To qualify at the GG-13, your resume must describe at least one year of experience that demonstrates the competencies necessary for immediate success in the position. Experience refers to any paid or unpaid experience, including volunteer work and Military service, that would be considered equivalent to work normally performed at the next lower grade level in the federal service. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as:
Experience Planning, organizing and directing managerial, and technical aspects of production, Operating and maintaining a variety of broadcast video cameras and audio recording systems, and Supervising personnel, distributing workload and tasks.
Candidates must describe how they meet the qualifying experience and/or selective placement factor(s) within the body of their resume. All qualifications must be met within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
Additionally, prior to reporting for duty the selectee must be found eligible for a DoD Top Secret security clearance with access to Special Compartmented Information (SCI) based upon an Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI), AND be approved for Presidential Support Duty in accordance with Department of Defense Directive 5210.55 (Yankee White - Category II, minimum).

Duties
- Responsible for all technical aspects of production while in operation and ensures that picture and sound quality meet technical standards of the television industry.
- Performs administrative and human resource management functions relative to the staff members supervised.
- Oversees the documentation of the President, Vice President, First Lady and Senior White House staff activities by monitoring the off-air digital and analog television.
- Receives, distributes, and records audio feeds, both on-the-record, and off-the-record from Presidential event sites worldwide.
- Provides audio distribution of Presidential remarks and official briefings to select White House complex office and selected government agencies in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area.
- Directs Presidential event audio and video recordings, event setups at various worldwide locations and locations throughout the White House Complex.
- Maintains and operates a variety of broadcast quality video cameras and audio recording systems, sound reinforcement systems, audio tape recordings and teleprompter systems.
- Supervises and instructs technicians in TV theory, fiber optic theory and equipment operations.

- This national security position, which may require access to classified information, requires a favorable suitability review and security clearance as a condition of employment. Failure to maintain security eligibility may result in termination.
