About the Position: This position is located at Bolling AFB, District of Columbia.

 

Bolling Air Force Base or Bolling AFB is a United States Air Force installation located in Washington, D.C. In 2010, it merged with Naval Support Facility Anacostia to form Joint Base Anacostia–Bolling. Since its establishment, the base has served as a joint site for both the Army Air Corps (predecessor to today's Air Force) and Navy aviation and support elements.

The Air Force District of Washington (AFDW) was created and activated at Bolling on 1 October 1985 with the mission of providing administrative support to Air Force members. On 15 July 1994, AFDW was inactivated, but was reactivated 5 January 2005 to "provide a single voice for Air Force requirements in the National Capital Region" according to the base's website.

Responsibilities

As a Physician (Family Practice), you will:

  • Serves as a Physician in the delivery of Family Medicine medical care to all ages of active-duty personnel, their dependents, eligible Service Component Civilian employees and other eligible beneficiaries.
  • Serves as member of the professional medical staff and/or faculty to provide advisory and consultative services on meetings, committees, conferences, and/or boards.
  • Coordinates with facility and community resources to provide multi- disciplinary comprehensive care to all patients, taking into account factors such as new and/or emerging procedures and techniques and the patient’s personal history.
  • Apply new procedures in the evaluation and treatment of complex patient cases and conducts research for the advancement of the Family Medicine program and for quality improvement to other providers and patients.
  • Develop guidelines and training for medical staff to follow when carrying out patient care services.
  • Performs Other Duties as Assigned

Additional information about transcripts is in this document.Basic Requirement for Physician (Family Practice), GP-0602-14:Degree: Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent from a school in the United States or Canada. This degree must have been accredited by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; Association of American Medical Colleges; Liaison Committee on Medical Education; Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association, or an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education at the time the degree was obtained. A Doctor of Medicine or equivalent degree from a foreign medical school must have provided education and medical knowledge equivalent to accredited schools in the United States. Evidence of equivalency to accredited schools in the United States is demonstrated by permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates, a fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country, or successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination.Licensure: Applicants must possess a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a Physician from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United StatesGraduate Training: Subsequent to obtaining a Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, a candidate must have had at least one year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting, i.e., a one-year internship or the first year of a residency program in a hospital or an institution accredited for such training. In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:Residency Training: Applicants must have successfully completed the required accredited residency training in the specialty of the position to be filled (Family Medicine) and equivalent experience and training equal to at least 3 years.Experience may not be substituted for residency training that is required for the specialty identified.

Salary : $124,308 - $315,000
