Defender One is seeking the following: Armed Security Officers – Baltimore Region
Location: Baltimore Region
Position: FLEX Part Time Armed Security Officer

Position Overview:
Defender One is looking for experienced Armed Security Officers for FLEX positions in the Baltimore region. FLEX Officers do not have a defined schedule and may be assigned to work mornings, afternoons, or evenings, any day of the week. Due to the nature of the position. This role mainly involves standing/walking. (Other minimal roles may include driving patrols, desk positions), providing a visible armed security presence to ensure the safety and security of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct regular armed patrols, both standing and/or walking, to maintain a visible and proactive security presence.
• Respond rapidly to incidents, alarms, and emergencies, ensuring the safety of the property and the public.
• Utilize security technology for real-time reporting and documentation of patrol activity and incidents.
• Provide excellent customer service while interacting with the public, tenants, and team members, maintaining a professional demeanor.
• Enforce property rules and regulations, manage access control, and ensure the safety and security of the premises.
• Collaborate with other security officers and teams to manage responsibilities across varying shifts.

Qualifications:

• Must hold a valid, non-expired Maryland State Police Handgun Permit.
• At least 3 years of prior armed security experience required.
• Proficiency in the use of technology and reporting tools (smartphones, tablets, security software).
• Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods during patrol shifts.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage effectively with the public and clients.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Flexible availability to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, with no set schedule.
• For safety, training and liability purposes, Defender One maintains a standard firearm and holster compliance list and requires employees to either posses or obtain a firearm or holster on that list.

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Experience:

• Armed Security: 3 years (Required)

License/Certification:

• Maryland State Police Security Guard Certification Card (Required)
• Maryland State Police Handgun Permit (Required)
• Drivers License with a clean driving record (Required)
