In-House Landman (Contract)

Defender Bay Resources is seeking an In-House Contract Landman with 5 years of title experience for a Long-Term project. Qualified candidates must be self-motivated and detail oriented while working in a competitive and fast-paced environment. This position will be primarily on-site at the client’s office in Dallas with the ability to work remote, if necessary. Little to no travel will be required for this position. Applicants must be local to the Dallas/Fort Worth Area or willing to relocate or commute.

Responsibilities

• Effectively prepare and review runsheets within a database using online and/or courthouse public records
• Strong experience with the BLM and Federal Leases in New Mexico
• Identify title defects and provide thorough feedback on possible requirements to cure the defect(s)
• Clear communication skills to provide thorough updates and/or feedback on any issues that may arise

Job Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree preferred (Energy Management, Land Management or Energy Commerce degrees are a plus)
• 5 Years Title Experience in New Mexico and Texas
• Self-starter able to work independently
• AAPL Membership with an RL, RPL, or CPL certification (Preferred)
• Thrive in a fast paced role in order to meet specific deadlines and client needs
• Adaptable to technology
• Ability to utilize and navigate all relevant online resources
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Proficiency in Excel, Word and Adobe Acrobat

Compensation

Pay: $350.00 - $425.00 per day
