Description:Summary: Shipping / Receiving Clerk is responsible for all outbound and inbound shipments of NPKCE material, product, and parts. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Verifies and maintains detailed and accurate records of all inbound and outbound shipments. Gathers all product or material in the warehouse for a shipment, prepares the product for shipment, and loads trucks for the safe and secure shipment to NPK customers.Unloads incoming trucks of product or materials, verifies and records the accuracy of the shipment, and arranges the transportation of goods to the proper location within the warehouse.Unloads incoming containers of product from overseas vendors (Europe, Japan), ensuring all serial numbers match and shipment load is accurate. Physically examines the content of incoming and outgoing shipments and compares it to both the part description and shipping records to verify conformance and accuracy.Communicates to Material Manager when shipments are inaccurate or upon any issue of non-conformance to shipment details. Responds positively to safety-oriented feedback.Experience and Requirements:High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years equivalent combination of education and experience.Valid Driver’s License.Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the individual constantly moves about inside the warehouse to load, unload, stock and move materials throughout the warehouse. The individual needs to ascend/descend a ladder to stock shelves or acquire product to fill orders. The individual frequently positions self to gather product from shelves that are positioned near ground level and overhead. They frequently operate a forklift or tow motor to move product. They occasionally operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and computer printer. The individual must be able to exchange accurate information with customers and employees while interacting and review their work for errors and make adjustments as necessary.The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything over 50 pounds will be moved with a forklift, overhead crane, or with the help of another department personnel using the appropriate and safe lifting technique. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Personal protective equipment will be required at times. The employee will generally be in a well-lighted, heated indoor shop environment with adequate ventilation. The employee will occasionally be exposed to outdoor conditions moving products between buildings or to vendors, as well as loading and unloading trucks.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
