What are the responsibilities and job description for the Litigation Associate Attorney position at Default Portal?
Offit Kurman, a full-service Am Law 200 firm, is seeking a Litigation Associate to join our Philadelphia, PA office.
The ideal candidate will have 1–3 years of litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in developing a long-term litigation career. We are also open to law clerks and recent graduates from ABA-accredited law schools who bring strong research, writing, and analytical skills to the table.
Practice Area:
This position will primarily support our government and transportation litigation practice and related commercial litigation matters. Prior experience with government or transportation litigation is a plus but not required.
Responsibilities:
- Support attorneys in all phases of litigation, from pleadings through trial preparation
- Conduct legal research and draft motions, briefs, and discovery responses
- Assist with depositions, hearings, and client communications
- Collaborate with senior attorneys across practice areas in a team-oriented environment
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar (or pending admission) required
- 1–3 years of litigation experience preferred, but not required
- Excellent writing, research, and communication skills
- Motivated, hardworking, and eager to learn
