Job Summary
The Alumni Services Specialist maintains consistent connection with Level 3 and Level 4 clients and alumni through regular relationship building and timely outreach. This role supports alumni retention by keeping records current, following up shortly after graduation, and sharing updates about events and supportive services. They also help facilitate seasonal alumni engagement and parters with internal teams to align statewide best practices and communication efforts.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty
satisfactorily. The essential functions include the following:
Meet with Level 3 and Level 4 groups at least bi-weekly to build relationships and strengthen alumni engagement.
Partner with the Client Care Manager to obtain accurate contact information for upcoming graduates.
Enter alumni contact information into the database for upcoming graduates and actively work to locate and update information for past alumni to maintain accurate records.
Follow up with new alumni by phone, text and email within one week of graduation.
Reach out to past alumni with updates and events, supportive services and check-ins to maintain ongoing connection.
Identify alumni who are interested in volunteering to support events, supportive meetings, and other program activities.
Coordinate seasonal alumni events in collaboration with the Center Director.
Provide timely updates and event information to the social media coordinator to support promotion and communications.
Collaborate with the Minneapolis Alumni Services team to ensure Duluth implements statewide best practices, protocols and consistent standards.
Required Skills & Experience (Minimum Qualifications):
High School Diploma
1 year of experience working with the recovery community and organizing events.
Passionate about supporting alumni after graduation.
Ability to build relationships and network.
Demonstrate proficiency with written and verbal communication.
Maintain meaningful relationships with alumni.
Have a working knowledge of Microsoft programs and ability to complete data entry.
Have a working knowledge of social media websites and applications.
Supports and upholds MnTC’s mission, Culture of Honor, and core values.
Comfort and compassion in working with individuals facing life-controlling challenges, such as mental health issues and addiction.
Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
At least 1 year of freedom from problematic substances.
Must pass a DHS background study as required under MN Statutes, Chapter 245C and 245G.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Able to stand and walk frequently during shift.
Able to climb up and down multiple flights of stairs several times during a regular shift.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
Target Compensation (Negotiable based on qualifications):
$19 to $21 per hour
