Job Summary

  • Set up function areas according to standard based on banquet event order.
  • Assemble and arrange conference AV and other equipment such as power cords/strips, projector, podium, conference phone line units, etc.
  • Transport and set up banquet tables and chairs according to floor plan.
  • Assist in pre-setting tables with table linens, pens, pen pads, and BEO requested items.
  • Daily inspection and cleaning of event space rooms.
  • Waste and linen removal from banquet rooms and prep areas.
  • Vacuum banquet room floors before and after events.
  • Restock meeting room supplies.
  • Clean trays and tray stands.
  • Set up event signage as directed by BEO/Sales department.
  • Work closely with maintenance and sales departments to ensure all BEO needs are met.
  • Refreshes meeting rooms during meal and coffee breaks.
  • Handles convention materials, moving from receiving to registration areas, guest rooms, or banquet rooms.
  • Bus tables and re-set them as needed
  • Resolve guests’ issues and create an amazing experience
  • Assist staff in completing pre-service tasks when able.
  • Keep event storage spaces clean, organized, and clear according to fire code.
  • Demonstrate a team-focused attitude and encourage collaboration.

Compensation

This is an hourly position with the opportunity for on-call or part time hours and a base wage of $14.42 per hour. Final compensation package offer is subject to change based on a variety of complex factors unique to each candidate including experience, education, skill set, and applicable certifications. 

Key Skills & Experience Required 

  • Prior event experience not required
  • Able to complete a satisfactory background check
  • Available and willing to work flexible hours based on business needs including weekdays and weekends.
  • Demonstrates strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Expresses sincere enthusiasm for the role
  • Must know how to prioritize, delegate, and respond in a timely fashion. Able to work under pressure, multi-task, and stay focused while maintaining hospitality.

Essential Functions of the Job

  • Ability to remain standing for up to 8 hours
  • Ability to walk the property and grounds frequently
  • Ability to move up and down stairs regularly
  • Ability to move quickly based on guest needs                             
  • Ability to regularly move and lift up to 50 lbs., sometimes up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to use repetitive manual dexterity, such as grabbing and stacking chairs, rolling tables, etc.
  • Ability to bend, stretch, and reach frequently, including above head, and repetitively during a shift
  • Ability to visibly survey property areas clearly
  • Ability to work outside seasonally in various weather for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information effectively, often in a public/group setting
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Ability to complete a satisfactory background check
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks and complete job duties in a safe manner
  • Ability to work flexible hours based on business needs including midweek and weekend days
