Allergy Nurse (LPN or RN) – DeFatta ENT & Allergy
Location: Altoona, WI
Pay: Commensurate with experience and education
Hours: 32-36 hours per week
Are you a dedicated nursing professional with a passion for allergy care? DeFatta ENT & Allergy is seeking an experienced Allergy Nurse RN to join our team! We specialize in treating conditions affecting the ears, nose, throat, head, and neck for patients of all ages.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer allergy tests, injections, and treatments
- Educate patients and families about allergy testing and treatment plans
- Prepare and mix allergy serums following physician prescriptions
- Monitor and document patient reactions, reporting any concerns to the physician
- Maintain patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Manage allergy-related procedures, including antigen preparation and pre-certification of testing
- Ensure timely patient flow and respond to patient inquiries
- Assist with general medical assistant duties as needed
Qualifications & Experience:
- RN licensure (current and maintained)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting (clinic, hospital, or similar)
- Allergy experience isn't required but a plus
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Ability to manage multiple patients and triage calls effectively
- Experience working with managed care and Medicare populations
- Strong communication skills and a professional, patient-focused demeanor
