Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise all dispensary operations, including sales, inventory management, and customer service to ensure smooth daily functioning.
- Recruit, interview, train, and develop team members to build a motivated and knowledgeable staff capable of delivering exceptional service.
- Manage employee schedules, conduct performance evaluations, and facilitate ongoing training to promote professional growth.
- Oversee purchasing, inventory control, stock replenishment, and merchandising to optimize product availability and presentation.
- Ensure compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations, including proper documentation, record keeping, and security protocols.
- Handle cash management duties such as cashiering, cash handling procedures, payroll processing, and bookkeeping tasks accurately.
- Implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and retain existing clients while promoting the dispensary’s brand presence.
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and safety standards while supervising shift operations to maximize efficiency.
- Utilize POS (Point of Sale) systems for sales transactions and inventory tracking with precision.
- Monitor retail math metrics like sales targets, pricing strategies, and budgeting to achieve financial goals.
- Foster a positive team environment through effective communication skills and leadership that inspires accountability and excellence.
Requirements
- Proven management experience in retail sales or similar environments; previous assistant manager or supervisory roles highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems (POS), purchasing procedures, and retail math principles.
- Excellent communication skills in English; multilingual or bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customer bases.
- Demonstrated expertise in recruiting, training & development, employee orientation, and team supervision.
- Familiarity with cannabis industry regulations and compliance standards is advantageous but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
- Experience with cash handling procedures, payroll processing, bookkeeping, budgeting, and retail management software.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
