Country Club Facilities Technician

Deerwood Country Club, one of Northeast Florida's premiere Country Clubs is seeking a Facilities Technician to work alongside the Maintenance Engineer in maintaining all areas of the country club community. Job Summary:

Assist the Maintenance Engineer in maintaining and repairing all clubhouse facilities which includes Golf, Tennis, Swimming, and Fitness in addition to the main clubhouse. The hours for this position are Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Responsibilities:

• Assists in maintaining general repairs to the clubhouse, administrative offices, fitness center, and tennis center. Job duties may include working with plumbing fixtures, furniture, woodwork, electrical systems, appliances, outdoor pavilion areas, and other structures within the Club.
• Performs various duties such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical and HVAC service.
• Maintains equipment in clean and working condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
• Work with vendors and contractors to schedule repairs and renovations in a timely and efficient manner.
• Other tasks & duties as assigned by the Maintenance Engineer.

Qualifications:

• Basic handyman skills including painting, carpentry, etc.
• Electrical and Heating/AC skills a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as you may need to communicate with a variety of people, including employees, contractors, suppliers, and members
• Solid analytical/critical thinking skills
• Skilled at multi-tasking and problem-solving
• Reliable self-starter who is comfortable with their skill set and is able to see what needs to be done and gets it done correctly and timely
• Ability to lift, pull and push materials up to 50 pounds following appropriate safety procedures, as well as occasionally lift 60 pounds or greater
• Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.

Deerwood Country Club is a private equity country club in Jacksonville founded in 1960.
