INVENTORY CONTROL SUPERVISOR
Position Summary:
The Inventory Control Supervisor is responsible for monitoring and maintaining accurate inventory levels. The Inventory Control Supervisor will perform cycle counts and reconcile inventory discrepancies. The supervisor will determine optimal inventory placement to uphold product integrity. The position requires inputting data into the inventory system and assigning product placement/location. The position is focused on improving systems to accurately record inventory i.e. receiving shipment, product placement in warehouse, accurate inventory levels to meet production orders. The Inventory Control Supervisor will work closely with management to develop and implement an audit program for all areas related to inventory movement for integrity and accuracy.
Essential Functions:
Manages and ensures accurate inventory quantities are recorded and maintained in the inventory system.
Receives equipment, assigns product placement, and updates inventory counts in inventory system.
Effectively manages and expedites the daily flow of all equipment.
Effectively plans and coordinates inventory operations with other DPG departments. Including, plant personnel, office personnel, laboratory personnel and account managers.
Maintain strong communication with all members of the team to ensure all processes and projects are followed and complete.
Effectively deals with difficult and complex work in the area of inventory management, personnel and maintenance.
Effectively addresses and resolves employee related issues in a professional manner alongside with HR Department. Exhibits professionalism at all times.
Effectively trains and mentors new hires and other inventory staff to ensure effective knowledge transfer of DPG processes, methods and new equipment. Effectively enforces DPG inventory control rules and methodology. Holds employees accountable to DPG standards.
Develops SOP (Standard Operating Procedures) Reviews, and Enforces for inventory management to ensure policies are followed as laid out by DPG
Investigates and resolves any count discrepancies and identifies solutions for accurate inventory counts. Identifies root cause through analysis and implements effective corrective actions to prevent future issues.
Implements and maintains IIPP/OSHA compliance in work areas and answers employee questions about IIPP/OSHA regulations.
Promotes a safe work environment, assists in the implementation of safety protocols. Works closely with the Safety Manager to ensure all inventory personnel is well trained and educated on all DPG
established safety guidelines.
Enforces the use of all Proper Protective Equipment in the performance of duties. Conduct on site potential hazard evaluations and addresses them with the Safety Manager.
Effectively evaluates the performance of employees, develops training to ensure all employees are performing up to DPG standards.
Evaluates and produces reports of the performance of employees in
the following areas: technical skills, job knowledge, team skills, communication skills, abiding to company guidelines and established rules. Presents a training calendar for newly hired employees.
Effectively uses ERP software to run inventory control processes and manage productivity through reports and monitoring.
Provides recommendations to management regarding inventory control and warehouse procedures. Effectively implements improvements.
Establishes and maintains an effective cycle count program in a perpetual inventory environment.
Coordinates the cycle count progress and results to identify necessary recounts and processes to be monitored and provide regular reports on the results.
Effectively trains employees on inventory control and warehouse maintenance.
Manages the responsibilities for all safety rules and protocols.
Manages the work flow of the day to day warehouse operations, ensuring optimum productivity, accuracy and timeliness according to deadlines.
Report to upper management regularly on any progress, issues etc.
Effectively performs special assignments and projects as requested by leadership.
Utilize the FIFO philosophy for inventory management of all materials within the warehouse.
Effectively communicates with other departments to ensure all processes are met.
Submit a weekly update report to direct manager by Friday detailing the following weeks tasks, assignments, and projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Experience: 3-5 years of distribution, warehouse, supervisory, and inventory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum 1-2 years of related experience in Supply Chain Management.
Skills: Microsoft Office, Excellent verbal communication skills; Proficiency in computer processing functions and other standard office equipment; ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks; Ability to read, comprehend reports and regulatory documents and explain clearly and concisely to others; Ability to calmly and professionally resolve issues with diplomacy and tact; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
Physical Requirements: Requires typing on a computer, as well as handling and grasping with hands when receiving products and placing on shelves. Ability to walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and lift and move 10 pounds on a regular basis, up to 25 pounds frequently, and occasionally lift and / or move up to 60 pounds. Ability to get onto and operate a forklift. Ability to walk and stand on concrete and uneven surfaces. Exposure to extreme temperatures, moderate to high noise, dust, gas and/or fumes.
Working Conditions:
This position functions in both indoor and outdoor settings, with exposure to a variety of work environments; which include outside weather conditions and exposure to machinery and equipment with moving parts. Employee may be subject to blood borne pathogens, bio waste and other medically-related factors, with exposure to moderate noise levels.
