What are the responsibilities and job description for the Speech/Language Pathologist position at Deerfield Elementary School?
Description:
• Evaluate, design and implement interventions for students recognized to have language/speech delays and impairments.
• Complete evaluations necessary to identify student’s needs and appropriate interventions.
• Work with special education and general education teachers to develop systemic approaches that allow all students to access the curriculum and make effective progress.
• Train support staff on appropriate interventions and monitor the implementation of designed programs.
• Provide Tier 1 & 2 instruction as part of a Multi-Teared System of Support (MTSS)
• Oversee a direct caseload of students with a variety of impairments and ensure completion of all documentation required by regulation and school procedures.
• Consult regularly with other members of interdisciplinary teams to monitor progress and design effective interventions.
• Complete other school based responsibilities as assigned by Principal to develop a positive and safe learning environment.
Qualifications:
MA Licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist, Master’s Degree, experience working in a public school as a SLP, a flexible team orientated individual with attention to detail, at least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
