Inclusion Specialist – Deerfield Elementary School

Deerfield Elementary School is seeking an Inclusion Specialist to support student access to instruction and promote positive academic, behavioral, and social-emotional outcomes in the least restrictive environment. This position will assist in implementing proactive and responsive systems that align with our Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS).

Primary Responsibilities

  • Serve as a special education liaison
  • Provide direct support to students experiencing challenges with emotional regulation, behavior, or transitions to maintain engagement and access to learning.
  • Lead crisis prevention, intervention, and de-escalation procedures to maintain student and school safety.
  • Provide coaching, modeling, and professional learning for instructional assistants related to behavior-support strategies, trauma-informed practices, and student regulation.
  • Conduct Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and develop behavior support plans in collaboration with team members.
  • Support implementation of Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 interventions aligned with district frameworks and instructional expectations.
  • Assist with data collection and progress monitoring to guide team-based decision-making and evaluate intervention effectiveness.
  • Provide early and consistent support to sustain in-district placements and continuity of services.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Special Education, School Psychology, Applied Behavior Analysis, or related field
  • Current DESE licensure (Special Education or related area)
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) credential or equivalent training and demonstrated experience in behavior analysis and behavior support planning
  • Demonstrated experience implementing behavioral and social-emotional supports in a school setting
  • Training or experience in crisis prevention and intervention procedures
  • Experience working within an MTSS framework
