Role Description The Food Service Worker is a contract, on-site role based at DEER VALLEY YMCA FAMILY CAMP in Fort Hill, PA. This role is responsible for assisting with daily food preparation, serving meals to guests and staff, and maintaining clean and organized dining and kitchen areas. Typical tasks include setting up food service lines, portioning and serving food and beverages, restocking supplies, and following food safety and sanitation procedures. The Food Service Worker collaborates with kitchen and camp staff to ensure timely meal service, responds to guest questions in a courteous manner, and supports special events or camp programs as needed. Evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required based on camp schedules.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Food Preparation and Food & Beverage handling.
- Experience or ability in Food Service, including buffet or cafeteria-style service.
- Knowledge of basic Food Safety and sanitation practices.
- Strong Customer Service abilities, with a friendly and professional approach to guests.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate weights, and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to follow camp policies, health guidelines, and safety procedures.
- Prior experience in camp, hospitality, or food service settings is beneficial.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; ServSafe or similar certification is a plus.
