POSITION OVERVIEW
The Plumbing & HVAC General Manager will oversee daily operations, manage department leaders, and ensure projects and service calls are executed with efficiency, quality, and profitability. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of the Plumbing and HVAC trades, along with the ability to manage both people and processes for sustained growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations for Plumbing and HVAC departments, including service, maintenance, and installation projects.
- Develop and implement operational policies, procedures, and performance standards.
- Monitor KPIs, budgets, and productivity to ensure operational efficiency and profitability.
- Forecast staffing needs and ensure proper scheduling to meet customer demand.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and coach department managers, technicians, and office staff.
- Recruit, hire, and retain top talent while fostering a positive, safety-focused work culture.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing training opportunities.
Customer Service & Quality Control
- Ensure all jobs meet company quality standards and customer satisfaction goals.
- Resolve escalated customer issues quickly and professionally.
- Maintain relationships with key clients and vendors.
Business Development & Strategy
- Collaborate with ownership to develop growth strategies and business plans.
- Identify new opportunities for revenue, services, and market expansion.
- Support sales initiatives and ensure alignment between field operations and sales goals.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 3 years of management experience in plumbing, HVAC, or related service industries.
- Strong technical knowledge of plumbing and/or HVAC systems and operations.
- Proven track record of managing teams, budgets, and operational KPIs.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in scheduling, dispatch, and CRM software (e.g., ServiceTitan, DMER, etc.).
- Valid driver’s license; trade license a plus but not required.
