Seasonal Maintenance Assistant

Deer Mountain Day Camp is looking for a seasonal maintenance assistant. Immediate hire. Looking for a jack of all trades. Someone with basic trade skills, carpentry, landscaping, painting. We are looking for team player who will step up and assist with anything we need maintain the cleanliness (includes grounds work and janitorial takes) and safety of the campgrounds and equipment. Position comes with significant overtime.

Basic Responsibilities:

• Perform variety of tasks, leaf pick up, painting, moving picnic tables, facility step and take down and cleaning. Painting and light landscaping.
• Assist the facility manager and grounds keeper with pre-season and off season projects
• Follow a work schedule and work efficiently throughout the day.
• Help maintain a safe and clean working environment daily.

Summer Camp Season: June 29th through August 21st

• Monday through Friday: 7:00 am to 6:00 pm,
• Saturdays, 8:00 to 4:00 pm
• Daily Lunch and snacks provided

Fall Clean Up and Shut Down

• Monday through Friday: 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Requirements and Qualifications

• High Diploma, vocational training or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, including understanding, speaking, reading and writing. Good interpersonal skills.
• Able to lift, move, position, place and transport objects up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
• Able to perform repeated bending, squatting, stooping, pushing and pulling.
• Able to ascend and descend ladders.
• Able to work outside in a variety of weather conditions.
• Applicants provide their own transportation, be punctual, presentable and respectful toward fellow workers and toward our clients.
• Work Monday through Friday, understanding times outlined in description.
• Willing to work overtime in June, July and August.
• Must be able to show work history, provide 3 references from past employers.
• All candidates will be subject to a background check (including license & driving record) as well as checks against the New York State and National Sex Offender registries.

Pay: $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
