Job Description: Medical Assistant - Residential PTSD Program
Position Title: Medical Assistant

Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Medical Assistant to join our dedicated team in a residential treatment program for individuals with PTSD. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality care, collaborate administration to comply with state and third-party regulatory agency requirements, coordinate with medical providers, train front line staff and engage with clients to support their healing journey.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Care:
- Provide direct medical care, within scope and work with providers to assist clients.
- Monitor and document client health status, progress, and any changes in condition.
- Develop, implement, and review individualized care plans in collaboration with the clinical team. Provide discharge planning assistance.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Liaise with administration to ensure state and third-party regulatory agency requirements are met and to ensure compliance with all relevant standards.
- Coordinate with external medical providers to ensure comprehensive care for clients.
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and adjust care plans as needed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records in accordance with legal and ethical standards.
Client Engagement:
- Build trusting relationships with clients to support their emotional and psychological well-being.
- Educate clients about PTSD, treatment options, and healthy lifestyle choices.
- Provide support and guidance to clients during their treatment, fostering a safe and supportive environment.
- Address client concerns and provide empathetic and effective communication to support their treatment goals.
Administrative Duties:
- Ensure all medical practices comply with state and federal regulations, as well as organizational policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality assurance and improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of care.
- Assist with the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to medical care in the residential treatment program.
- Keep up-to-date with advances in practice and PTSD treatment to provide the best care possible.
Qualifications:
- Current Medical Assistant (MA) license in Utah.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in psychiatric or mental health, preferably in a residential setting.
- Knowledge of PTSD and its impact on individuals.
- Strong understanding of state and federal regulations related to healthcare and residential treatment programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Empathy, patience, and a genuine desire to help clients with PTSD.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with first responders or military personnel.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position
- Work primarily in a residential treatment setting with occasional travel to meetings or training sessions (still within Draper, Utah)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22/hour; Negotiable for right candidate
Expected hours: 40 per week
