Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience working with children is preferred, but not required.
- Must be willing to obtain CPR and First Aid certification or already hold current certification.
- Must pass required background checks and meet all childcare licensing requirements.
- Must demonstrate reliability, patience, flexibility, and the ability to work well with children and a team.
- Provide a safe, positive, and welcoming environment for all children.
- Actively supervise children at all times and follow all safety and childcare licensing requirements.
- Engage children in age-appropriate activities, games, crafts, and other opportunities for learning and play.
- Build positive relationships with children and support their social and emotional needs.
- Help maintain a structured environment with clear expectations and consistent routines.
- Follow daily schedules, classroom routines, and Antler Care policies and procedures.
- Assist with arrival, dismissal, transitions, meals/snacks, and other daily routines as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom and shared spaces.
- Communicate respectfully and professionally with children, families, coworkers, and administration.
- Monitor and address children's behavior using positive guidance and appropriate classroom management strategies.
- Complete required attendance, sign-in/sign-out, incident reports, and other classroom documentation accurately and promptly.
- Communicate important updates regarding children to the appropriate staff members and administration.
- Work collaboratively with other teachers and leadership to provide consistent, high-quality care.
- Follow all procedures regarding safety, emergency situations, supervision, and child protection.
- Attend required staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
- Maintain current CPR/First Aid certification or complete certification within the required timeframe.
- Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, flexibility, teamwork, and a positive attitude.
- Support the overall mission and expectations of Antler Care while helping create a fun, safe, and supportive experience for every child.
