Manual Machinist

Deepview is hiring a Manual Machinist on behalf of a well-established industrial service organization that supports the repair, maintenance, and reliability of rotating equipment across a wide range of manufacturing and heavy industrial environments. This is a strong opportunity for a hands-on machinist who is experienced with manual equipment, precision measurements, and industrial repair work.

Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist to support the repair and maintenance of industrial electric motors, generators, and related rotating equipment. This role requires strong manual machining ability, attention to detail, and the ability to work from technical drawings and service procedures. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and comfortable working in a shop environment with larger industrial components.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate manual machining equipment including engine lathes, horizontal lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and related shop tools
• Machine, repair, and modify parts used in the service and rebuild of industrial rotating equipment
• Perform precise measurements using micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision measuring instruments
• Support balancing, fitting, and mechanical repair activities as needed
• Safely use overhead cranes, gantry cranes, forklifts, and rigging equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications
• Follow shop safety procedures, service standards, and work instructions
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Assist with additional shop and repair functions as needed

Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in a manual machining role
• Experience with manual lathes and other conventional machining equipment
• Strong understanding of precision measurements and use of micrometers and related tools
• Solid math skills and mechanical aptitude
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Experience in electric motor repair or rotating equipment repair is a plus
• Familiarity with electro-plating equipment is a plus
• Ability to follow training, safety, and operational procedures
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends when needed

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working in an industrial/shop environment
