Duties
- Operate a variety of trucks including tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks with precision and care
- Load and unload freight efficiently using forklifts or manual methods, adhering to safety protocols
- Drive route-specific deliveries across local, area starting from Swedesboro, New Jersey going to Baltimore, Maryland then cross over to Harrisburg PA then back to Swedesboro New Jersey. This is a six hour turnaround linehaul job from Monday through Friday with Saturday.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, cargo details, and delivery documentation
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
- Follow safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents and ensure a secure working environment
Skills
- Proven experience in truck driving, including delivery driver roles involving freight handling and route driving
- Strong knowledge of manual transmission operation and proficiency in driving tractor-trailers or similar heavy-duty trucks
- Familiarity with operating specialized equipment such as forklifts or dump trucks is a plus
- Ability to handle refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks confidently
- Excellent navigation skills with the ability to plan efficient routes for timely deliveries
- Good physical stamina for load & unload tasks and long hours on the road
- Clear understanding of commercial driving regulations and safety standards
