Dedham Square Circle is a civic 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in historic Dedham Square, Massachusetts that runs over 66 events each year including the Dedham Farmers Market.
Role Description
This is a part-time, year-round hybrid role based in Dedham, MA, for a Farmers Market Manager & Planner. The individual will run, oversee and plan year-round Dedham Farmers Markets. The markets run on Wednesdays in the Summer and Saturdays in the Winter and Spring. This position is a combination of remote administrative work and onsite market management. The position is a physical, public facing outdoor job when on site and requires strong organizational and written communication skills and attention to detail for remote work.
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and planning skills for managing market operations
- Ability to establish and maintain relationships with vendors, community members, and local organizations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as attention to detail
- Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to adapt to a dynamic work environment
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and to repetitively lift 50 lbs.
- Access to personal vehicle or car share and valid driver's license
- Access to personal computer
- Excellent communication skills and experience leading and working in a team environment
- Strong spreadsheet (Excel or Google sheets) skills
- Experience in marketing, including social media and community outreach
- Passion for supporting local communities and small businesses
- Familiarity with Dedham or similar communities is a plus
