Long Term Substitute - Physics, High School Level
The mission of the Dedham Public Schools, in partnership with the community, is to promote excellence in learning, self-discipline, and motivation. - Approximate start date is March 1, 2024 through the end of the 2023-24 academic year
- Teach four (4) sections of physics and one section of AP Physics C - Mechanics
- Attend IEP meetings as necessary
- Other duties as needed
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Licenced to teach high school physics in Massachusetts
REPORTS TO: Principal, Assistant Principal and/or Science Department Chair
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Implement a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives.
- Diagnose and evaluate student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Create a classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.
- Effectively collaborate with department and grade level teachers.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations.
- Attend meetings and perform duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors.
- Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
- Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation
- Other duties as assigned
