Merchandiser

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, hardworking retail Merchandisers in Albany, Columbia, Greene, Fulton, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Schoharie counties, Schenectady, Saratoga, Warren, and Washington counties. The Merchandiser is responsible to stock coolers and shelves neatly with product, construct and/or maintain product displays, accurately price and rotate product. Merchandisers record accurate daily account activity through usage of your Company issued iPhone. Merchandisers maintain proper administrative work, to be submitted each Friday. Other activities include pricing proper displays, maintaining assigned POS and taking care of damages in your assigned stores.

Full-Time:

• Friday- Sunday and One day during the week 
• 4:00am Start time

Base Pay: $23.00/hr.

• Incremental retention increases every 6 months for employees in good standing 
• $2 an hour Summer Bonus - Payout at the end of the summer, Max payout of $1,040
• $250 eligible to earn Quarterly volume bonus, Max of $1000 annually 
• Full time merchandiser in good standing can earn upwards of $54,000 annually after two years of employment. 

Essential Functions:

Business

• Arrive at first scheduled account per managements direction and company practice as communicated upon hire or when awarded route
• Check voicemail at a minimum of every 2 hours
• Set up and maintain assigned Point of Sale (POS)
• Place POS in all accounts when/where authorized (bottle necks, shelf strips, static’s and rebates)
• Place signs on cooler and product displays
• Wear DeCrescente issued uniforms at all times
• Wear steel toed boots at all times
• Use Merchandiser iPhone to call in orders
• Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed by Sales Representatives and Merchandising management
• Report to work with all necessary equipment maintained and in proper working condition

• Maintain account level relationships with appropriate account personal in your market
• Provide professional customer service to all external customers in your market area

Self-Organization 

• Maintain a clean and neat appearance
• Check voice mail at a minimum of 2 hours
• Attend the following meetings: Quarterly Merchandising meetings as scheduled
• Arrive at first scheduled account per management expectation per channel
• Adherence to designated route per day/week (calls on all scheduled customers)

Required Skills:

• HS graduate 2 years general employment or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Sales merchandising related work experience or a minimum of 1 year related experience preferably within the beverage industry
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Basic computer skills and advanced knowledge of iPhone
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Valid Driver License and good driving record

Work Shift Requirements:

• Ability to work additional hours as needed
• Must speak to supervisor to notify him/her any time prior to the beginning of work shift when calling in sick. Voice mail or e-mail messages are not acceptable replacements.
• Use and maintenance of company-issued equipment

Environment & Physical Demands

• Work safely and follow all OSHA regulations and company safety policies and procedures
• For all on-the-job injuries or accidents, must notify Safety Officer, supervisor, and Human Resources immediately (no later than 1 hour)
• Exposure to retail account beverage coolers, basements, backrooms
• Ability to lift up to 165 lbs to waist height.
• Able to kneel, squat, bend, lunge, stretch, step-up and rotate body holding 10-40 lbs. of product and/or carry to a tiered shelf frequently
• Ability to stand and walk 8 hours per day

Ability to climb ladders (to hang POS, as required).
