Our team is growing and we are looking for a full-time Personal Banker to join our great team!  As a Personal Banker, you will help clients achieve their financial dreams through relationship banking. In this role you will attract, develop, manage and retain banking clients by building strong customer relationships through active listening and delivering excellent customer service. 


Responsibilities include providing basic financial banking guidance to clients, managing a consumer loan portfolio, recommending appropriate deposit products and other services, identifying and capitalizing on cross-sell opportunities and making appropriate referrals to internal sources.

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Develop relationships with colleagues, customers and community members. 
  • Perform proactive customer outreach to drive customer engagement and relationship building.
  • Open, close and perform maintenance on various types of deposit accounts. 
  • Generate and close consumer loans within guidelines of bank policy and growth targets.
  • Manage a consumer loan portfolio including exceptions, profitability, credit quality and collections on problem loans.
  • Identify avenues to help customers achieve their financial dreams, making product or service recommendations and actively referring customers to other areas of the bank.
  • Within the boundaries set, negotiate and balance pricing decisions with both the customer and the bank in mind. 
  • Document customer interactions and manage appropriate follow up using the bank’s customer relationship management platform. 
  • Contribute to department success through participation in weekly department meetings, setting and completing quarterly goals and other assigned tasks in a timely manner. 
  • Serve as a resource and sounding board to fellow Personal Bankers as they navigate new or challenging situations. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE 

Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; 6-12 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS 

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS 

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.


REASONING ABILITY 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Technology savvy with ability to learn various banking software platforms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Possess, or show a willingness to learn, personal banking knowledge including types of products and services and associated banking regulations
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve conflict
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Functions effectively under pressure and during crucial conversations
  • Proven track record of producing quality, error-free work 
  • Ability to meet deadlines
