The Role
The Program Administrator is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the daily operation, coordination, and high-quality delivery of Decode Project’s Literacy Programs. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, you will serve as both an operational architect and a mentor, ensuring our programs remain sustainable, inclusive, and effective.
Key Responsibilities
Program Innovation & Strategy
- Design & Execute: Plan and evaluate workshops and activities that respond to the specific needs of students and their families, identifying opportunities for program growth.
- Enrollment Strategy: Proactively recruit participants and build deep-rooted relationships with community partners, schools, and childcare providers.
- Data-Driven Systems: Record, monitor, and maintain all enrollment forms, student records, and success metrics to ensure data-driven reporting and strategy adjustments.
Mentorship & Team Leadership
- Lead Literacy Mentor: Serve as the primary subject matter go-to and lead mentor for literacy interventions.
- Supervision: Lead the training, scheduling, and supervision of 12 Literacy Mentors, fostering a culture of professional growth, innovation, and accountability.
Community Advocacy
- Equity Focus: Target outreach and program design specifically for students not yet reading at grade-level proficiency, with a priority on families who have been historically denied resources.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (sociology, social work, arts, business, public health, political science, education) or a satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.
- Experience: * Proven experience working with elementary-age and adolescent students.
- Experience in the development and implementation of effective community-based direct service programs.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strategic Leadership: Ability to create and implement scalable strategies that enhance the program’s mission and impact.
- Project Administration: Strong skills in documenting metrics, meeting facilitation, and communicating project timelines efficiently.
- Inclusive Leadership: Proficiency in inclusivity practices, transparent communication, conflict resolution, and building cohesive, motivated teams.
- Relationship Building: Effective interpersonal skills to work with a variety of personalities, cultures, and age groups.
