What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pipe Layer/Laborer position at Decker Construction Services, Inc.?

We are looking for a Pipe Layer/Laborer. As a pipe layer, you will assemble, install and repair underground pipes and fittings. This includes, but not limited to, metallic and plastic pipe, ductile iron pipe, steel pipe and concrete pipe for water, sewer, and drain work.
Pipe Layer/Laborer job responsibilities include:
- Prepare the area in which pipe will lay by directing trenching and grading.
- Assist equipment Operators in the placement of pipe using hand signal.
- Backfill around pipe using hand tools.
- Test pipes for leakage.
- Measure and cut pipe.
- Load and unload construction materials.
- Ready to learn from on-the-job training when necessary.
Qualifications:
- Experience in working with construction tools such as tape measure, torpedo level, laser, radio, and gloves.
- Must be able to work on their feet for an entire day, understand and preform assigned tasks.
- Willing to travel.
- Able to work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to preform overtime, night and weekend work.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
