DecisiveInstincts, LLC is actively seeking a Software Engineer Subject Matter Expert (SME) with an active TS/SCI clearance to support mission-critical national security initiatives in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will have expert-level proficiency in Python and JavaScript, a strong background in full lifecycle software development, and the ability to collaborate with non-technical stakeholders to deliver impactful technical solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with national security investigators and analysts to understand mission needs, recommend solutions, and translate requirements into technical specifications.
- Engage in all phases of the software development lifecycle: requirements gathering, planning, design, development, testing, implementation, and QA.
- Design, code, test, and debug software components, including:
- New custom software features and capabilities
- Enhancements to existing codebases
- Workflow and operations automation
- Large-scale data processing and analytics solutions
- Advanced computational and statistical modeling
- Conduct operations and maintenance (O&M) tasks such as:
- Developing new features
- Troubleshooting and resolving software issues
- Reviewing logs for patches or performance improvements
- Refactoring existing code for optimization
- Assisting in documentation creation
- Evaluate and integrate third-party solutions (COTS, GOTS, OSS) to solve complex data and technology challenges.
- Programmatically integrate external components into existing platforms.
Required (Must Haves):
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and JavaScript
- Demonstrated experience in full lifecycle software engineering
- Strong problem-solving and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
- High proficiency in HTML, CSS, C#, and Java
- Eight (8) years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Mathematics
OR - Six (6) years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree in a related field
